    Copper and Cupron

Our journey began over 20 years ago with a father`s quest to prevent the environmental dustmite triggers of his son's asthma attacks. Mr. Gabbay, father, researcher, and eventual founder of Cupron Inc., searched for an antimicrobial preservative agent that could effectively kill bacteria, fungus, and dustmites and viruses. In addition, he looked for an agent that was durable and could easily be incorporated into a variety of product applications. The founder's search took him to the periodic table of elements where he identified each element that could be a possible candidate.

About 20 possible candidates were identified. Each element and each oxidized compound was isolated and tested in the laboratory. The founder found that copper and particularly its oxidized state referred to as Cuprous Oxide provided the best combination of effectiveness, and durability that he was seeking.

Along the way, the founder also discovered a new

method for incorporating the copper oxide into a wide variety of materials including textiles, solid surfaces, creams, and other polymers.  When the founder added the documented successful use of copper throughout history, and Copper's role as an essential nutrient to the body to all his research findings, he knew he had found the right solution to not only address his family need, but also a technology that needed to be shared with the world. In 2000, Mr. Gabbay founded Cupron Inc.

      • Product claims that can be made for products containing Cupron technology vary by country and by product. In particular, all antimicrobial claims in the US
are strictly regulated by the US EPA, which allows only preservative "treated article" claims, while structure-function/disease-treatment claims in the US need
to be pre-market approved by the US FDA. Partners and customers should consult Cupron for all questions regarding product claims in particular countries
